Neyyappam is a very simple and popular breakfast or teatime recipe with few ingredients. It is one of the best , healthy and easy recipe for surprise guests or our family members itself.

  1. White rice: 1 cup
  2. Jaggery: 3/4 cup( depends on your sweet ness)
  3. Coconut grated: 1/2 of 1
  4. Salt : a pinch
  5. Cardamom: 2
  6. Oil: for deep frying
  • Soak white rice for 3-4 hours.
  • Add soaked rice, grated coconut, grated jaggery, cardamom pods, salt in a wet grinder or mixer grinder. Grind it to smooth thick batter by adding little water.
  • Donot make the batter too watery.
  • You can add more or less jaggery to your taste.
  • Heat oil in a pan  and add a small laddle of batter to it.
  • Cook it in medium flame .
  • When it puffed up, turn to other side and cook to golden color.
  • Take out from oil and repeat the step for remaining batter.
Delicious, yummy soft Neyyappam are ready, serve hot with a cup of coffee or tea.
